Initial Datasets

The initial set of datasets to be made available are:

  • Air quality data
  • Car Parks
  • CCTV
  • Journey Times
  • Traffic – Accident
  • Traffic – Event
  • Traffic – Incident
  • Traffic – Roadwork
  • Weather station data

These datasets will be available from 24th February 2014.

    We’re building an app for iOS based on the netraveldata api. It would be great to get some insight into the status of the api.

    – In particular could you advise as to whether any changes or updates are planned in the near term?
    – Are you open to have feedback regarding our practical use case of the api?

      Hi there-

      That’s great to hear.

      We do have several changes planned for the API. Specifically, our air quality data currently is in a unusable state- this year we have newly installed air quality monitoring equipment set to be published on the API which should be higher quality (updated more frequently etc) and across more numerous sites. Fairly recently car park data has been shut off, we have a project to bring it back, initially for 3 main car parks, using ANPR, which should publish to the API around summer. SCOOT data (traffic flows and congestion level data for specific roads) will also be growing this year with more site installations. Other datasets may also be updated periodically.

    Can you give me an update, our Azure based system appears not to have received any data since 22 April. It could be our end as Microsoft at about this time made changes to Azure that slightly impact on response times to your messages, but our local test environment has also been unable to get any data.

    There are currently no outstanding issues with the ODS that we are aware of. However, you will shortly receive an email from our help-desk and we will try to assist you in resolving this problem.
